Year 8 sees us leaving the safety of land and heading for the seven seas to discover just how dastardly and decieving Pirates actually were. Investigating the infamous lives of Black Bart and Black Beard, amongst others, and seeing how they met their gruseome deaths! We then take a look at the horrifying circumstances and conditions many African people were inhumaely forced to endure during the Slave Trade. How men, women and children were kidnapped and transported away from their homes to work as slaves on a continent far away! |

Attention! To the left, 2, 3, 4! Company, Halt! SOLDIERS OF CCYD are you ready to learn all about the causes, casualities and consequences of World War I? Well that's what happens during the second half of Year 8. Alliances, Nationalism the murder of an Archduke - we investigate which was the most important reason for causing a war in which millions died?
Then we look at the fighting itself, and try and get to grips with the excruciating circumstances that many men faced during the conflict. Rationed food, trench foot, machine-gunnery, gas attacks and much, much more... it truly is a spectacular year of History!
